Zagrejem čašu mleka i dodam dva sirova jaja.

Today marks the anniversary of #MarilynMonroe death. I never knew much about her growing up except that people regarded her as an iconic and untouchable figure who had an affair with President Kennedy and overdosed on pills. It seemed that every girl in college had this infamous photo hanging up on their dorm wall that her closest friend, photographer and business partner, Milton Greene captured. Since her death, her troubled past and conspiracies have taken over the legacy she created. I took up an interest in her life after I unwisely bleached my hair that ended up falling out and people started referring to me as Marilyn. I wondered who this woman really was and if she was in fact just famous for her sex appeal. I was fascinated by her resiliency and determination to being innovative. Originally, she was told she was too ugly to be an actress and was put in the background as an extra. After practicing in the mirror every day and learning how to tap into her “magnetism”, the character she created, the directors noticed she was the only one in the room the crew was interested in watching and gave her a role. Not because of her looks but because they were captured by her energy. She was dedicated and spent many years training with Lee Strasberg but people still didn’t take her seriously. She finally won over her colleagues and blew them away with a knock-out performance as the lead in Anna Christie. (Ellen Burstyn still says it's the best one of all time.) She was dynamic and deeply raw. She grew tired of being typecast, underpaid and ignored so she left the big movie studios she had a contract with and they tried to sue her. Together with Milton, she was the first woman to start her own production company and had a net worth up to $200 million. As of 2017, Sixty-two years after her victory, women comprise only 24 percent of producers, 13 percent of writers, 7 percent of directors, and 5 percent of cinematographers. The gender pay gap is still massive but luckily we are experiencing a revolution and I can’t help but acknowledge her for having the courage decades ago to push the boundaries of what’s possible for women.
Holivudski nutricionista Hala El-Shafie pohvalno govori o njenom načinu ishrane.
